Moonshine & Ale 7/24/26

Thursday night Live Band Karaoke was a bunch of fun. My nephew Josh Holmes filled in for Pancho on guitar, while Heather played drums and I covered keys. We had a bunch of people in we haven’t seen in a while, which was nice to see! Also, we met several other musicians who came out to sing with us and/or support their friends who were also singing. After the show, Heather and I headed back to San Marcos, and just after I got home, I called Josh to make sure he got on the road safely, and while on the phone, he had a tire explode. Fortunately, he had gone through a drive through after the show and was still in New Braunfels, so I drove back down, helped him get his tire off, picked him up, drove back to my house, and got to bed about 6am. He took my truck and ran to get a new tire as soon as they opened, and by 8:30am, we were back on the road to New Braunfels to put on his new tire and send him safely towards Houston. What a crazy end to a long day.

It was a good Saturday night show in New Braunfels, TX, at Moonshine & Ale. We had the great Ryan Hall join us on drums, and the three of us played everything from Taylor Swift to Barenaked Ladies. “Enter Sandman” into “Vienna” was my proudest left-turn of the evening. Heather sounded fantastic and helped people celebrate some birthdays and bachelorette parties. She and Ryan are great musicians to perform with!

Heather and I had a great night in New Braunfels! The first half hour was very slow, but by 9 PM, the place filled up and stayed all the way until midnight. We had a bunch of fans out, and made new fans tonight. This type of show requires a tremendous amount of mental gymnastics, but I love doing it with Heather. She and I rarely need to speak even when trying new stuff. It’s the power of a great team!

Moonshine & Ale 7/16/26

We got to play some Aretha Franklin, Hall & Oates, George Strait, and a ton more songs tonight at Live Band Karaoke. I love seeing all of our friends and fans each week at Karaoke. Every Thursday is like a party in New Braunfels!

Boot Ranch 7/10/26

Heather and I performed out in Fredericksburg this afternoon, poolside for the guests at Boot Ranch. We played from 5p-8p and had some great requests. Everything from Simon & Garfunkel to Taylor Swift was requested. It was a fun show for all the families out enjoying their day. After the show, we loaded out to the parking lot where four kids, about 11 years old, were just hanging out, laughing and talking. As I was putting the last thing in my truck, one of the kids walked up to me and said, “Excuse me, sir. I’d like to take a moment to talk with you about your vehicle’s extended warranty” and the walked off while I just stood there laughing.

Moonshine & Ale 7/9/26

Live Band Karaoke was packed once again for our show tonight at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels.  We met several new people, and got some great feedback about our show. I love performing with Pancho and Heather, and tonight was another great time with them. As a side note, Moonshine & Ale will be hosting an art show this Sunday starting at 4:30p, and Heather and I will both bring artwork for sale. Join us!

Moonshine & Ale 7/4/26

Happy 4th of July, 250th edition! What a fun night! First, Heather and I played from 8:30p-10p while swapping off between piano and drums. Then at 10p, our good buddy Alex Lugwa joined us on drums. We had a ton of requests, and people in the crowd were feeling good. Towards the end of the night, a friend of ours, Sam Chapman, popped in after his gig at another venue and joined us on sax for the last couple songs. It was great to have him join us! When we finished, several people came up to let us know how much our music meant to them. Some were struggling with personal stuff, and others were just so happy with how much we put into our show. We appreciate all the kind words, and I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight to our show in New Braunfels, TX! You made the night great with all of your requests. Heather and I were making each other laugh during the hole show, and the crowd was full of characters out having fun on this holiday weekend. We will be back tomorrow night for our 4th of July show. See you then!

Moonshine & Ale 7/2/26

We started off our 4th of July weekend with our Live Band Karaoke show at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels, TX. There were lots of people in town, and we had some really good singers join us. Pancho, Heather and I always have fun on Thursdays with everyone. Heather and I will be back for piano bar both Friday and Saturday this weekend. Come celebrate the 4th with us!

Muck & Fuss 6/26/26

DanHolmesGroup performed from 7p-10p tonight in New Braunfels, TX, at Muck & Fuss. I had a lot of fun with Heather on bass, and our special guest for the evening, drummer Bert Wall. We had a good crowd, and my favorite tip of the night came from a young (maybe 3 or 4) year old who came up on stage between songs to put a sticker on each of our faces. I got a banana, Heather a lightning bolt, and Bert a flower which matched his shirt. It was sweet! We played three hours of original music and a bunch of my favorite cover songs. Bert sounded great, and I hope to work with him again in the future!
