DanHolmesGroup is always performing somewhere. With a piano-guitar-drum-bass set up, this four piece group puts on a show all ages can enjoy. Their original music is a little bit of New Orleans mixed with some piano funk rock as told by a singer/songwriter. Dan's style of piano playing conjures up memories for his audience of players such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Dr. John, and Pinetop Perkins, while his storytelling in his songs has been compared to the Beatles and Randy Newman.

WHAT IS DanHolmesGroup ABOUT?

When Dan formed DanHolmesGroup, he sought out only the best musicians. On an average night, Dan will mix in with his original material some old soul tunes or jazz standards, maybe some forgotten rock tune, and definately a bunch of piano boogie. They customize each show to each venue they play. Dan is very interactive with his audience. They are very comfortable performing as a duo, trio, or quartet. You'll have to go to a lot of shows to get the full effect of this energetic act!

DHG is also the official backing group for Dr. Duke Tumatoe.

WHO IS DAN HOLMES?

Dan Holmes has been performing professionally since 1993. Playing every chance he could, he quickly became the first-call player for many different bands in his area. Within the past few years, he has played all over the Midwest with a national act, opened (and sold) a retail music store (MUSIC STATION in Avon, IN), began (and continues) giving lessons, and produced a year-long radio show dedicated to promoting Indiana's live music scene.

He has release six CDs. Even his debut CD in 1998 (PURE) was greeted with high praise. Within a month, listed in the Indianapolis Star twice, first in the "take note" review column by David Lindquist ("…truly original…"), then later in the top ten best albums of the year (fifth place) also by David Lindquist. Later, PURE was reviewed in NUVO, where they gave it 4-1/2 out of 5 stars.

Dan Holmes can be heard on a wide variety of radio stations. He is a regular guest on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom show, and has been heard on NPR.

Dan is currently on tour performing over 200 dates per year, and he is writing new material for his next CD.
